Clean and Care
For fabric maintenance, perform regular vacuuming or gentle surface brushing. Shield upholstery from prolonged direct sunlight to prevent color fading. Flip and rotate padded seat cushions during cleaning to distribute wear evenly. Plush pile textiles like velvet are prone to flattened nap; gentle low-temperature steaming restores their original soft texture, followed by a lint brush to remove surface fuzz. Avoid water-based or chemical solvent cleaners, which can lead to permanent discoloration and stains; heavily soiled fabric should be sent for professional textile cleaning services.
For metallic decorative elements: Abstain from alcohol or solvent-based cleaners. Only utilize soft cotton microfiber cloths for routine wiping. Severely tarnished metal hardware requires professional restoration. Wipe polished metal surfaces with a lightly dampened soft cloth. Harsh industrial polishes and waxes are prohibited, as they risk scratching the reflective coating. Acceptable gentle metal polishes include Brasso, Simichrome and Flitz; these are safe for amateur use unless the metal features a protective wax seal layer, which will be stripped during polishing and require reapplication afterward.
